What Inspires Us Now

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Here’s an eloquent commentary from the president of Bennington College on some big ideas – the state of our world, what needs to change, and how she did. Innovative, compelling, inspiring.

WOW! What the human mind is capable of is staggering.

Our friend Carlos Salum and just one of his many endeavors. Carlos is a warm, thoughtful and generous leader and coach. This website and what it proposes to do is astounding.

This is so simple.

The Future of Events

Monday, August 3rd, 2009

Why do people have an event? To communicate, to celebrate, to inspire, to promote, to engage. People need to connect through more than electronic mediums. As we continue on in the information age people will need to personally, intimately connect more than ever. Our job as event designers and producers is to be the catalyst, to design an experience to engage the emotions of the attendees, whether it is a corporate gathering, a grand opening, a celebration or a fundraiser.

There are very real reasons why events are important. If you couldn’t be in the same room with people, couldn’t touch them, could you truly affect change? We celebrate life because of the people in it. We celebrate together because, as much as we’d like to think we can do it on our own, we need each other.

While meetings and events have decreased in frequency of late, we predict they will become more important than ever as people need to find a way to connect with their customers, patrons and families. There is no more effective way to foster customer loyalty, produce champions and nurture friendships than to reignite personal relationships.

At Rogers & Gala, we think our job goes far beyond planning and producing the event. We take great care in understanding the essence of your message and the heart of your organization. Our job is to share this understanding; to touch people; to move them to inquire about your services or buy your product; to motivate them to act.

Events have the ability to do all of these things if they are done with a clear vision, but most importantly, if they are done with compassion, empathy and an understanding of what we all want…to connect.
